JUST AN UPDATE........................................

Hi there, You might have noticed that I have been missing in action. That is because I have found myself a new hobbu which has now become a means of income!
I have started a cupcake decorating party business for children from 6 - 16. And I am also making cupcakes to order. If you click on the logo below it will take you to my new blog.

It has really taken off which of course is great but I find that I have not had any time for cardmaking!
Hopefully this will change in the future but for now it's cupcakes galore!!

SIMPLY MAGNOLIA CHALLENGE

Goodmorning! There is another challenge over at Simply Magnolia and this week it is a nice and easy one: Anything goes.

For this card I tried something different. I made a 3d image. I keep seeing the most amazing creations on Mariska's blog. Go and have a look. So I thought I'll give it a try. It is really time consuming as there are a lot of little bits but it is also a lot of fun to do.

I used a Magnolia image from the new collection. The papers are Magnolia too. In the next picture you can see the layers better:

It is a long way of being perfect as I think the layers probably need to be raised more.

SIMPLY MAGNOLIA CHALLENGE - LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Good afternoon! Just 9 days left and the kids will go back to school. Cannot believe how quick this holiday has gone. Yesterday we went to get them their school uniforms and new school shoes and I can tell yoou my purse is now empty!

Anyway it is Sunday so a new challenge over at Simply Magnolia where this week the theme is LOVE IS IN THE AIR.

Now I had a lot of truble with this card to start of with, I must have stamped it about 9 times! Every time the colours kept bleeding!

As you can see I used a lot of die cuts! paper is Pion which I got from Duymelot who also happened to be our sponsor this week. The prize is 2 Magnolia stamps from the new collection! The sentiment has been computer generated.

BELLES 'N WHISTLES CHALLENGE

We arrived back yesterday from our holiday in Holland. It was lovely to get away even if it was only for 1 week. So whilst the washing machine was whizzing away I managed to make a card and used some of the goodies I picked up whilst visiting the craftshow in Zwolle, Holland. This card is for the Belles 'n Whistles challenge where everything goes.

I used this adorable image from the new collection, sorry I'll find out her name!

BELLES 'N WHISTLES CHALLENGE

I have not played along with the Belles 'n Whistles challenges for ages ( naughty, naughty!), but as I had some spare time yesterday I decided to join in with their challenge which is: Complimentary Colours.

I ordered 2 paper pads by K& Co - Watercolour Bouquet - and oh my they are gorgeous!

I used one of my favorite Elisabeth Bell Images: Eden

I paper pieced her dress. I also stitched all the edges of the DP.

The bird cage is a TIM HOLTZ die. The butterfly is K&Co and the flowers are WOC

The sun is out so we're off to the park now.

Wow it has been absolute ages that I posted a card but has been because I have been really busy with something else. I should be able to show you during the week!

Anyway there is another challenge over at Simply Magnolia. This week we have a colour combo:

PINK/BROWN/CREAM. Now dopey me although I came up with the challenge when starting the card in my head the colour combo was pink/purple and cream (duh)

I used up the last of my scraps of the lovely MME paper. The image is from (I believe) the Christmas 2010 collection. For the edges I have used a MS punch. A bit of lace from my local haberdashery and some muslin behind the image.

SOME ODD GIRL CHALLENGE

Hiya! The boys had an inset day today and as the weather was not that great we decided on a pyama day!

Just lounging around, love it! As they were busy with their computer games I decided to make a card.

Now I have been seeing these gorgeous images and on further investigation found out they are from Some Odd Girl. They come in Digi and rubber and are sooo cute! I choose a couple of Digi's and made a card with one of them. She is called Mae. The challenge over at Some Odd Girl is Bright and Blinding colours

Papers are Girls Paperie. I 3d her dress and the flowers in her hair:

Now guess who I visited this week? I'll give you a clue, he lives at Nr 10 Downing Street!
I went on a schooltrip with Tom my youngest and one of the parents managed to pull a few strings and we were allowed right up to the door of Nr 10! Great fun!!

I was looking through my Magnolia Ink magazines and came accross Camilla's advent calendar and thought yes let's try this. Instead of making it a Christmas Advent Calendar I decided on a summer theme.

It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun to make!

I took the picture yesterday when it was nice and sunny ( cold and wet today) and there is some shadow from the flowers.

Yes I did very nearly forget about this card! I had coloured the image earlier in the week, got the papers ready and forgot about it!

Luckily I remembered just in time.

This card is for the Belles 'n Whistles challenge where they would like to see some shiny/glitter on your creation.

I found this gorgeous paper in my local hobbyshop and it already has glitter on it!

I just love this image from Elisabeth Bell, so cute!

Hiya. Another sunny day here in London. My boys broke up from school today so fingers crossed this weather stays for the holiday!

Goodmorning, I wasd truly spoiled this morning by my kids, breakfast in bed, yummy :o)

I decided to make a bit of a scene: I used a tree stamp from Magnolia and for the leaves I used a MS leaf punch. Behind the fence ( Magnolia) I used a grass die from MFT. Image, little bird and sentiment are also from Magnolia.

MFT Stamps Challenge

I am on a roll!! :o)

Have you seen them yet, these gorgeous stamps from Heather Ellis - Pure Innocence. They are so cute. If you go to Heathers site you can download these cuties from £0.50p! or you can go to MFT Stamps where you can buy them as clear stamps. And that is what I did, I also bought some gorgeous dies as well.

Now over on the MFT Blog they have a challenge where you need to follow a sketch:

I used a stamp set called A box of love and the paper I used is from Crate paper:

I paper pieced her dress, sewn the edges of the paper and used MFT flower dies and some lace.

The sentiment comes in the kit.

Good afternoon. Another glorious day, roast in the oven, kids playing Monopoly and Mum gets a bit of craft time inbetween cooking, tidying, sorting out argument as to who owns Oxford Street!! :o)

Good morning. The kids are on half term this week. The boys went to a activity camp for two days and I thought it would be nice to spend some time with my daughter. We went shopping as that is her favorite thing to do!! But honestly the amount of money I spend! It just seemed to fly out of my purse :o). So today I am staying put!!

Good Afternoon, hope you are enjoying a nice lazy Sunday! It is perfect crafting weather isn't it?

It would be nice to see some sun though, epecially now the kids are having a week off. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Over atAnyone for Anya we have another challenge which is: Anything but a card.

I decided to alter a note book for my daughter, Jessica. She is taking Japanese lessons at school so I thought the Geisha Digi images from All that scraps would be perfect!

I did not use any DP, just card from Bazzill. The lantern I printed out twice. Flowers were made using a punch. I have kept it fairly simple and daughter dear loves it ! (phew) (it is not always easy pleasing a 12 year old!!:o) )

Hi there. We have finally moved! Everything went really smoothly and now I am just trying to go through all the boxes. We have not got an internet connection so I had to get a dongle so I will have to keep this short and sweet.

Hi there, yesterday I held my first card making club at my boy's primary school. We had such fun! And I have to say the saying less is more does not apply to kids aged 8 to 11! I think one girl had about 20 flowers scattered all over her card. But I think they had a good time. Next week we will be decorating note books. I'll take my camera and show you what they have made, watch this space :o)

Still managed to make a card last night though, again used a new Magnolia image:

I also used Edwin's Village and the hot air balloons from Magnolia oh yes and of course my favorite fence die as well. The clouds were made with Nestabilities label 14. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft.

Anyone who says that moving house is stressfull.....................................................is right! I keep stumbling over boxes :o) and I cannot find half the stuff because I have packed it already!

STAMPIN FOR THE WEEKEND CHALLENGE

Hi there, it is such a lovely day; blue skies, sun shining, love it!!

Today we have another challenge starting over at Stampin for the Weekend where the theme this time is: GETTING WARMED UP. So anything that warms us up in this cold weather; colours, images etc.

I recently saw a decorated lampshade in a magazine which was so cute so I decided to make one myself:

I used an existing lampshade from Ikea, made a template and cut out the DP, so the paper shade fits over the existing shade so it is safe to use.

I used a Tilda image ( I believe she is from the Christmas 2010 collection) Magnolia paper and some Magnolia dies.

I stuck some flowers onto the base and glued some vintage lace around the shade. It looks lovely when the light is turned on.

Kids have gone back to school today! yeah!! and I have started my (early) spring clean. You know what they say: tidy house, tidy mind! Don't think hubster agrees though, the amount of tutting when I put yet another black bag full of stuff for the charity shop in the car. Men!

I am back with another card. I was tidying up my crafty stuff and found this image that I coloured in a couple of weeks ago!

I love this image, so cute. I used Distress Ink this time an I'm quite pleased with the result. 9 out of 10 times the image ends up in the bin!

Good morning! What a week, was asked to make 3 costumes for my son's Christmas play a week before the performance! Still had to make an elf costume for my other son, had to get things made for the school fair on top of the household chores. I really must learn to say NO sometimes! hihi. My eldest son had his play last week, he was a guard and even had to dance a bit ( John Travolta in the making!) The youngest will have his play on Tuesday and he is the head elf! Had to learn a lot of lines but I'm sure he'll be fine. I will be happy when they break up next Friday for 2 weeks. I also seem to get more done when they're at home!?

HANGLAR ADVENT CALENDAR

Hi there, brrr it is soo cold, just want to stay inside curled up in my nice warm duvet, but no chance!! I have to pick the kids up in half an hour and go food shopping ( might get myself a nice bar of chocolate for this evening, curled up on the sofa with a hot chocolate mmmmmm

I haven't been very busy on my blog lately but that is because I have been busy making an advent calendar. Loved making it but boy you need to take your time:

I am so please with how it turned out. I got these gorgeous papers by Maja Design from
Hjerteboden which is run by Camilla and her husband.

I also got the idea for this advent calendar from Camilla - it was featured in the Christmas edition of Magnolia Ink 2009-

O dear o dear so so late with this posting. We have had such a busy weekend!

My boys have their birthdays a week apart ( did not plan that very well did I?! hihi) and I have just been so busy organising parties etc etc just have not had the time to do any crafting

But things have calmed down now so here is my card for this week's challenge over at Anyone for Anya which is Girlie Fun :

I used an image from CC Design - Country Girl and paper pieced her dress. I also used some glaze on her shoes and bows but unfortunatley that does not show up on the foto. Paper is from Girls Paperie.

I used a Magnolia image from the Christmas Collection of 2009. She is definately one of my favorites. I coloured her in with Distress Inks, took me hours but I am really pleased with the result.

31st October - Halloween - very excited kids, carved pumpkins, front porch decorated, yep we are ready, let the fun begin. Actually I don't really like Halloween. Don't like knocking on people's doors. I always hide behind the bushes hihi. But he the kids like it!
